What is the PTE exam?

PTE- Pearson’s Test of English language is a standardized English test for evaluating a person’s English language skills like reading, writing, speaking, and listening. It is a computer-based test, which is of 3 hours duration. There are strongest reasons for PTE being so popular like the best student experience, evaluating algorithms, single 3hour session exam.

PTE Exam structure

PTE Academic has four modules – Reading, Listening, Writing, and Speaking.

PTE Speaking & Writing module is for 77-93 minutes with questions like Reading aloud, repeat sentences, Describe images, Re-tell lectures, Answer the short question, Essay Writing, etc.

PTE Listening module is of 45-57 minutes with question types like Summarize spoken text, Multiple-choice test, fill in the blanks, Highlight the correct summary, select the missing word, dictation, etc.

PTE Reading module is of 32-41 minutes with the question types like Read the paragraph and answer the multiple-choice questions, Re-order the paragraphs, reading and writing- fill in the blanks, etc.

Where to Start?

It is easy to understand the exam format but deciding where to start the preparation is the toughest part. The best way to plan your strategy to succeed in the PTE exam is, try to attempt any practice test and evaluate your score. Understand where you are lagging. Focus more on the parts where you are lagging.
