1.      You just need the sentence summary

To understand the meaning of a word, you do not need to know the meaning of each word. Instead, understand the summary of the sentence, which will lead you to the word meaning.

2.      Elimination rule

The best and common tip for any kind of question is the elimination rule. Start elimination choices that are not related to the word. Check the meanings of the choices placing the context and check. This way you will be left with the appropriate answer.


3.      Place it and check

This is kind of a trial and error method. Place each choice in the passage and check the meaning. If it is not making any sense strike it off. 

 

4.      Don’t go for unknown words

The most common mistake by SAT test-takers is choosing an unknown word rather than choosing a known and easy word. Most of the time it will be a wrong answer. So never do that mistake. By following these tips you can improve your SAT reading score.
