What is GRE General Test?

GRE general test is a standardized test that is accepted worldwide by many universities as an entrance test to get into graduation and business schools as well. And the universities decide whether the person is suitable for the applied course or not based on the GRE General Score.

What is GRE Subject Test?

GRE Subject is not a common test for many universities. This test will have 6subjects where you need to show your skills in those particular subjects. Mostly, students who have completed graduation and are planning for research domains; can choose GRE Subject to showcase their expertise in a particular subject.

Difference between GRE General and GRE Subject:

1.      GRE Exam Content:

GRE General has sections like quantitative, reasoning, verbal, and writing. Whereas, GRE Subject test has questions based on different subjects.

2.      GRE Questioning models

GRE General Exam has both multiple-choice and numeric entry required kinds of questions. But, GRE Subject has only multiple-choice questions.

3.      Options in GRE

GRE General provides two options for the test takers. They can choose either paper-based tests or computer-based tests. But GRE Subject test is available as a paper-based test only.

4.      GRE Exam Duration

GRE General has four sub-sections where the time is also divided as 30-35 minutes for each section. And GRE Subject test has only one section and the exam duration for GRE Subject is 3 hours.

5.      GRE Exam Fee

GRE General Exam fee is around 14,000INR on average for all countries. But this fee is different for Australia, China, and Nigeria. GRE Subject test has a standard fee across the globe which is around 10,500 INR.
